I wrote this a very long time ago. It makes me smile. Thought I would share here.
Title: Ah Hughes That is Not for your Body!
Well, a funny incident happened today. I cannot remember Hughes doing this before. Except for one time. Let me tell you what happened today.
I did not sleep all night! I was so mad and wished to not sleep the whole day so I can sleep well at night. Well, I get up and decided to make dog treats for Hughes; I will post that recipe very soon. The cookies turned out great! Yea, score! Of course, Hughes loved them.
After that, I cleaned up then laid on my bed. I slept for 2 hours! I had a ride picking me up at one! O crap! It is 12 and I do not have the money for the ride! I jump out of bed, rush out into the living room, pull on a hijab and grab Hughes’s harness. I put his leash on and pull him out the door. I let him go pee, and then we rushed off to Publix where I got change! Yea!
Now a little calmer. I get home and it is around 12.45. Good, I have time. Therefore, Hughes and I sit waiting for the ride. WE heard him and went outside, locking up the flat.
Since this service cannot take me to the doctor’s office, I took it to the library, which is literally right next door to the docs! WE get off, ask which sidewalk to take, then off we go. We had a guide dog jam, with two people with guide dogs leaving the children’s clinic where I go and of course, Hughes tried to sniff, however once we passed, he was fine. I knew those people; however, I was not in the mood to talk. They did not notice it was I, so that is good!
We check in then wait. After a few minutes, we were called back. I got my blood pressure and temperature, which is perfect! Got my weight and we did not do the height, since I am 20 and have not changed, at least my height, for a long time!
Now here comes the crazy Hughes part. We are lead in to the room and I sit down on the table. Hughes was on my left, however there was a table and I feared he would be in the way since that was the only table and the doc needed that to write. Therefore, I wanted him on my right side!
“Hughes, over here,” I said in my most sweetest of voices and motioned my right side. Well, Hughes got all excited and put his front paws on the little step that goes up to the bed that I was sitting on. I smiled and said, “No Hughes, over here.” I again motioned to my right.
Again, he stepped up on the step and looked at me as if saying, “Aren’t I going to get up there! That looks much comfortable!”
I laughed and a nurse across the hall started to laugh. Finally, I snapped my fingers at the direction that I wanted him to go and he reluctantly went.
Now, granted if he jumped fully up onto the bed, I would be horrified! LOL
Side note, every time I start writing about Hughes, I think he knows because he is rolling on the floor laughing. LOL Anyway, crazy dog tried to get on the bed that is for humans! In the doctor’s office, never the less! LOL
The only other time I remember him trying to get on furniture when we were not home was at the hospital some time last year and he got so worried that he leaped onto the bed. LOL
The nurses were not there so I quickly got him off the bed hoping no one saw, thankfully, no one said anything!
Now I just found Hughes eating a paper towel! I have to remember to pick up! LOL
Anyway, that was our interesting day. That is all that happened because I passed out once I got home. WE went to Publix around eight when I woke up to get more change for my ride!
Our first night walk in a long time and it went good.
