Getting Healthy?

When I think about what it means to be healthy, I think eating healthier foods, exercising, loosing weight. Is this really what being healthy means though? I believe a key aspect is mindset, if we don’t have the right mindset or motivation, it is easy to slide down, eating when not hungry, craving high sugar foods, eating greasy fried food.

Having the right mindset and motivation makes a huge difference in achieving our goals. It will help us stay committed and motivated.

This is where I struggle the most. I know I want to lose weight and in overall, be healthier. I keep on finding excuses though.

Too much work getting all the kids ready to just walk around for 30 minutes. Cannot find time to exercise because I am taking care of a newborn. Let me just grab a chocolate bar, it is easier right now. Let’s eat from a drive through because I just have no energy to cook at home.

I keep on making excuses after excuses on why I am eating a bad choice of food or not exercising. At this point, I am tired of myself. I am tired of feeling this way and get so angry at myself when I eat something that definitely won’t help me on my weight loss journey.

How can I change? What can I do? The main issue here is getting the healthy snack option. I think I will start with dumping all the unhealthy snacks in our house, chips, candy, etc.

I find when I don’t have immediate access to it, I am less likely to eat it of course, because it won’t be here. I really hope I can kick myself in the butt and get going with this weight loss journey.

I want to feel better about myself. I want to have more energy. I want to be less moody. I want to be here for my kids for as long as God allows. Hopefully writing this here as well will keep me motivated, because now it is down in writing. I am committed.
