Today has been a pretty good morning so far. The babysitter was scheduled to come, so I planned on taking the kids to the library for storytime. Off we went, and as soon as we stepped inside, I could feel the excitement in the air. The girls seemed to be in great spirits, ready for some fun.
Safa, my youngest, wasn’t too sure at first about what was going on. She stayed close to me most of the time, observing everything around her. But Safa does have a love for music and dancing. So, when the librarian started singing, it didn’t take long for her to warm up. Soon enough, she was swaying to the rhythm, giggling, and playing around. It’s always wonderful to see her open up and enjoy herself.
After storytime, we hung around the library for a while longer. The girls enjoyed playing with the toys, and Maria, always eager to dive into a book, found a cozy corner and got lost in her reading. Moments like these make me appreciate the simplicity and joy that can come from such everyday experiences.
Now, I’m back home on the patio, enjoying a gentle breeze. If only the sounds of birds and nature were what I heard instead of the bustling highway nearby—but you take what you can get. It’s a beautiful day, and I’m soaking it all in. The kids have gone to the park with the sitter, giving me a little time to relax.
The rest of our day is pretty laid back. I need to figure out what we’re having for dinner, and later Maria has her Arabic class. Aside from that, not much else is going on today, which is nice. Some days, a quiet and simple schedule is just what we need.
Until next time!
