Our Past Few Days

Hey everyone! Sorry for the radio silence these past few days—time totally got away from me.

Lets start on Thursday
Thursday started off pretty slow. The babysitter came in the morning and took the girls to the park while I stayed home, waiting for my new Apple Watch to arrive. It was nice to have a quiet moment to myself while the girls got to enjoy some outdoor time.

In the afternoon, we headed to the library for a fun arts and crafts session—seashell painting! Maria and Marwa had a blast. Marwa was on a roll, painting six shells, while Maria created three beautiful ones. Safa, as always, had fun playing in the play area. I even joined in and painted three shells myself! Here’s a picture of all our creations.

a collection of seashells that have been painted with various bright colors. The shells are arranged on a dark, textured surface. Each shell has a unique pattern of colors, including shades of pink, orange, green, blue, yellow, and purple. The shells vary in size, with some being small and others larger.

After hanging out at the library for a bit, we headed home and wrapped up the evening quietly.

Friday

Friday started off pretty slow. I wasn’t feeling my best, but I tried to push through and not let it show too much. We spent the morning hanging out at home—while the girls played, I tackled some housework.

Soon enough, it was time to get ready to head to the mosque, as we do every Friday. After prayers, it’s become our little tradition to go out to eat. This time, we went to our favorite spot—Red Lobster! The food was amazing as always, and once we were full and satisfied, we made our way back home to settle in for a relaxing night.

Saturday

We originally had plans to visit a state park about an hour and a half away and meet up with some friends. But when Marwa woke up with a runny nose, we decided it was best to stay around town instead.

We started the morning with our usual bagels, then headed to Becwith—a quiet, country lane with farms on either side. It’s a long, deserted road, perfect for a peaceful escape. We hung out for a bit, enjoying the calm atmosphere, but it started to get pretty hot, so we headed home.

The girls were really hoping to jump in the pool, but it needed a good cleaning. Instead, they played outside for the rest of the day. And that was pretty much it for our Saturday—low-key and relaxing.

Sunday

Sunday was another slow and easy day. We started off by going out for breakfast at Mimi’s, a local spot we decided to try. The food was fantastic, as always! After breakfast, I could tell Safa was ready for a nap, so we drove around for a bit, and sure enough, she eventually fell asleep.

After she woke up, we decided to head to a local park for a nice little nature walk. The girls had a great time stopping by the river and splashing around in the water for a while. Once we wrapped that up, we gathered everyone and headed back to the car to go home.

By then, I wasn’t feeling too well, so I laid down and took a little nap. And that pretty much sums up our Sunday—and our weekend.

I don’t love writing about these things days after they happen because I always feel like I might forget something! Oh well. In any case, it’s a fresh new week now, and I’m looking forward to what’s ahead!
