One of the greatest blessings of Ramadan is that duas (supplications) are more likely to be accepted. This month is a time when Allah’s mercy is abundant, and He listens to the sincere prayers of those who call upon Him.
When Are the Best Times to Make Dua?
1️⃣ Before breaking the fast (Iftar) – The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:
“The supplication of the fasting person at the time of breaking the fast is not rejected.” (Tirmidhi)
2️⃣ During Suhoor and the last third of the night – This is a special time when Allah descends to the lowest heaven and answers those who seek His help. (Bukhari & Muslim)
3️⃣ On Laylatul Qadr (The Night of Decree) – This night, found in the last 10 nights of Ramadan, is better than 1,000 months (Quran 97:3). A powerful dua to say on this night is:
“Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibbul ‘afwa fa’fu ‘anni.”
(“O Allah, You are Most Forgiving, and You love forgiveness, so forgive me.”) (Tirmidhi)
4️⃣ While fasting in general – The Prophet (PBUH) said:
“Three people’s supplications are never rejected: the fasting person until they break their fast, the just ruler, and the oppressed person.” (Tirmidhi)
What Kind of Duas Can We Make?
✅ Ask for forgiveness and mercy
✅ Pray for health, guidance, and success
✅ Make dua for loved ones and the Ummah
✅ Seek protection from hardships and trials
✅ Ask Allah for Jannah and to be saved from Hellfire
Tip: Keep a Dua List to remember all the things you want to ask Allah for this Ramadan!
