One of the special acts of worship in Ramadan is Taraweeh, the extra night prayers performed after Isha. It is a highly recommended Sunnah and an opportunity to earn great rewards.
🌙 What Is Taraweeh?
Taraweeh is a voluntary prayer prayed in sets of two rak’ahs after the Isha prayer, typically in 8 or 20 rak’ahs. It is best prayed in congregation at the mosque, but it can also be performed at home.
📖 The Virtue of Praying Taraweeh
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:
“Whoever prays during the nights of Ramadan with faith and seeking reward, all his previous sins will be forgiven.” (Bukhari & Muslim)
This means praying Taraweeh consistently can bring immense spiritual benefits and forgiveness from Allah.
💡 Tips for Praying Taraweeh
✅ Pray at the mosque for motivation and to listen to the Quran recitation.
✅ If tired, pray fewer rak’ahs but with sincerity.
✅ Make du’a during sujood—it’s a powerful time for supplication.
✅ Stay hydrated and eat light before Taraweeh to maintain energy.
✅ If you can’t go to the mosque, pray at home—Allah still rewards every effort!
Taraweeh is a chance to strengthen our connection with Allah and reflect on the Quran. Even if you can’t pray the full amount, doing what you can is still rewarding!
