As we approach the final days of Ramadan, Eid al-Fitr is just around the corner! 🎉 Eid al-Fitr means “Festival of Breaking the Fast” and is a joyous occasion marking the end of Ramadan.

🌙 What is Eid al-Fitr?

  • It is celebrated on the 1st of Shawwal, the month following Ramadan.
  • It is a time of gratitude, joy, and community.
  • It begins with a special Eid prayer at the mosque.

📖 Islamic Significance of Eid

The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:
“The fasting person has two joys: one when he breaks his fast (at iftar) and the other when he meets his Lord.” (Bukhari & Muslim)

🕌 How to Prepare for Eid?

✔️ Pay Zakat al-Fitr – A required charity given before Eid prayer to help those in need.
✔️ Perform Ghusl (ritual bath) – A Sunnah to cleanse before Eid prayer.
✔️ Wear nice clothes – It’s recommended to dress well and use perfume.
✔️ Recite Takbeer – Saying “Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, La ilaha illa Allah…” from the night before Eid until the prayer.
✔️ Eat before Eid prayer – Following the Sunnah, eat dates before heading to the mosque.

🥳 How is Eid Celebrated?

  • Eid Prayer – A special prayer held in mosques and open areas.
  • Family & Friends Gatherings – Visiting loved ones and sharing meals.
  • Giving Gifts – Especially to children, known as “Eidi” 🎁.
  • Acts of Charity – Continuing the Ramadan spirit of generosity.
