How often do I walk/run?

I don’t walk or run as often as I would like. Running is something I find fun and exhilarating, but it comes with its own set of challenges. Being blind means I can’t run freely by myself; I always need someone with me to guide me, which makes it feel cumbersome and, at times, disheartening. It’s frustrating not to have the independence to just take off and run whenever I want, especially around where I live, where safety is a significant concern.

Walking, on the other hand, has always been my go-to way to relieve stress and decompress. There’s something incredibly soothing about just being out in nature or even just around the neighborhood. But finding the time to get out for a peaceful walk is another story altogether. With three active girls and my trusty Seeing Eye dog, Astro, it’s quite the whirlwind just getting everyone ready and out the door! And when we do finally head out, walking down a busy street with everyone in tow isn’t exactly relaxing anymore—it’s more like an exercise in crowd control! So, while I don’t get to walk or run as often as I’d like, I’m still finding ways to stay active and enjoy the little moments of calm when I can.
